A Comedy of Errors
April 12, 2021 - May 9, 2021
After being separated from their respective twins in a shipwreck, Antipholus and his slave Dromio travel to Ephesus to find them. The other set of twins lives in Ephesus, and the new arrivals cause a series of incidents of mistaken identity — the cornerstone of most Shakespearian comedies!
There’s lots of room for slapstick and physical humor in “The Comedy of Errors,” and we’re going to make it even more fun by letting interested students direct each scene in any style they see fit! Want a fight scene to resemble a traditional Kung Fu movie? Go for it! Or maybe you want to showcase your artistic talents in an animated scene — here’s your chance! Each role will be cast at the beginning of the session, and student directors will submit their scene ideas to the artistic director.
“The Comedy of Errors” will likely be an online session with a digital release, depending on COVID-19 rates and restrictions. Rehearsals will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:30pm and Saturdays from 11am-2pm (as needed) starting April 13. The premiere will be May 7, with additional showings May 8 and May 9. The session will cost $125.
